On April 10, 2018, the Commission released its Consultation Report titled The Beneficiary Designation Act (Retirement, Savings and Other Plans).


The Commission encourages you to provide your thoughts, comments and suggestions concerning this aspect of Manitoba's law. Comments on this Consultation Report should reach the Commission by June 8, 2018.

  • The consultation paper deals with assisted reproduction & parentage. This consultation paper:​​
  • Considers the need for new or amended statutory provisions to determine a child’s legal parentage where the child has been conceived using assisted reproduction
  • Outlines legislative reform initiatives addressing assisted reproduction and parentage in Canada and internationally
  • Discusses several issues arising from assisted reproduction and determinations of parentage under Saskatchewan's current legislation, and presents options for reform 
  • Describes Saskatchewan’s statutory provisions that determine a child’s legal parentage
The consultation paper and survey can be found here. The consultation period closes on May 31, 2018. Responses can be sent via written comments or by completing the survey.
