Institut Québécois de réforme du droit et de la Justice
Created in 2018, the Quebec Institute for Law and Justice Reform (IQRDJ) is an independent reform and research organization. It works to continuously adapt legislation and the judicial system to contemporary reality with a view to providing citizens with greater access to law and justice and promotes public participation in the orientation and definition of laws.
Funded in a way that ensures its autonomy, the IQRDJ mobilizes skills from all the Faculties of Law in Quebec, and, beyond legal sciences, from several other disciplines and fields of knowledge. It calls upon the expertise of practitioners. The interdisciplinary and comparative nature of its work opens the door to a broadening of the aims of legal research. The research conducted by the IQRDJ is conducted in compliance with the ethical conditions of research.
Its work documents the major directions that may form the basis of future legislation. Collaborating with organizations fulfilling the same mission, in Canada and abroad. IQRDJ is particularly interested in the harmonization of standards from a perspective that is at the heart of Quebec's legal tradition.
IQRDJ attaches central importance to consultation and public participation whenever its work requires a better understanding of social expectations regarding law and justice. It encourages in various ways the consideration of citizens' expectations regarding laws.
The Institute maintains permanent relations with all segments of the legal world and civil society, so as to ensure the social relevance of its work.

Créé en 2018, l’Institut québécois de réforme du droit et de la justice est un organisme de recherche indépendant. Il œuvre à l’adaptation continue de la législation et du système judiciaire à la réalité contemporaine et l’accès des citoyens au droit et à la justice.
Financé d’une manière qui assure son autonomie, l’IQRDJ mobilise des compétences dans toutes les Facultés de droit au Québec, de même qu’au sein d’autres domaines de la connaissance. Il fait appel à l’expertise des praticiens. La nature interdisciplinaire et comparative de ses travaux ouvre la porte à un élargissement des visées de la recherche juridique.
Ses travaux documentent les grandes orientations susceptibles de fonder les futures législations. Collaborant avec des organismes remplissant la même mission, au Canada et à l’étranger, il s’intéresse notamment à l’harmonisation des normes dans une perspective informée par la tradition juridique québécoise.
L’Institut accorde une importance centrale à la consultation publique, chaque fois que ses travaux exigent une meilleure compréhension des attentes sociales en matière de droit de justice. Les recherches menées par l’IQRDJ sont conduites dans le respect des conditions éthiques de la recherche. L’Institut entretient des relations permanentes avec tous les segments du monde juridique et de la société civile, de manière à s’assurer de la pertinence sociale de ses travaux.
