The Law Commission of Ontario [LCO] is Ontario’s leading law reform agency. The LCO provides independent, balanced and authoritative advice on complex and important legal policy issues. Through this work, the LCO promotes access to justice, evidence-based law reform and public debate. The LCO is a national and international leader on public engagement in law reform.

The LCO’s most recent report, Regulating AI: Critical Issues and Choices, is the first comprehensive Canadian analysis of how to regulate government use of AI systems to ensure access to justice, human rights, procedural fairness and legal accountability. The LCO is located in Toronto at Osgoode Hall Law School.
